..::| Project: Back 2 the Basics 56k:no |::..

well i picked this thing up 7-9-07 after about a month of waiting on the seller to get his new car. id say i picked it up for a bargain, seeing as it only really needs paint and a few things here and there.

it came with a intake, some wheels, and ebay coils. i really wanted one un-modified but this will do seeing as it only has 100k. the body is straight, the motor runs ok (needs to be timed) and the interior is minty.

all i have done to it is clean the engine compartment a bit and throw away some trash that was in it. i also droped it about 2 inches in the back and an inch in the front (post pix of that 2moro when i extend the shock travel). as for music i put all 6 infinity speakers and an old head unit i had laying around, sounds almost as good as my 4dr.

i call this project back 2 the basics cause i wanna go back to the time when building a car was fun and basic, not all these trends and people wanting to be cool (kinda like the rap game 10 years ago =P ) i want out of this build a weekend track car, and sometimes a daily driver. im not gonna swap cause the motor has such little miles on it, it'll be turboed eventually. im gonna paint it black, cage, bucket seat, suspension upgrade, rear disks nothing too crazy. but keep in mind all this isnt gonna happen over night (like all builds) so excuse me if im going to slow for your taste, i can only go as fast as my wallet will let me.

ok enough talk, on with the pix!

these are the pics my brother sent me before i bought it.

i know these are enkei's but not sure the name of them

when i first bought it home, and rinsed it off

before

after (crappy pix, i know)

my inspiration

and even tho theyre red

well im not gonna respray my car for another few months (i cant decide what color to get) and i needed something cheap, fast, and cheap. so this is like a $20 paint job, and i dont think its fully dry yet.

what i used (i actualy only used half of everything)

the outcome

no more regamasters a.k.a. "hey those are some nice slips!"

got some SSR MK-IIIs the front two are silver and the back are white, im gonna redo them all silver eventually cause the white makes the blue lip look purple. they might look a little funny cause they're staggered.

Good job on the DIY paint job. It looks a lot better than all the people rolling around in primered cars. It would look even better if you took the time to wet sand it and get rid of a lot of that orange peel.

Nice progress. i wouldve stuck with the Regas tho. The Mk3's dont go with the car all that much. BUT then again i am partial to the Desmond's!

yea i liked em too, especially cause they were the lightest wheels i ever seen (8 lbs a piece!). but it sucked when people asked were they real and seeing the knockoffs every 5 minutes. but ive been wanting mk3s for a few years now tho.
